Andy is passionate about promoting multi-stakeholder collaboration to secure a sustainable future.
A doctoral graduate from Cranfield University, he has over 20 years’ experience in tackling strategic and operational challenges in UK airports and airlines. He now provides expert advice, insight and support to a range of companies. Within the aviation sector he promotes sustainable development and assists companies in tackling environmental issues. For those in other sectors developing innovative ideas and technology on environmental and sustainability issues he supports them in developing links to the aviation industry.
Prior to establishing A&G Jefferson in 2012, Andy spent over 8 years working with BAA at London Stansted Airport establishing and heading up the environment and sustainability teams. He was instrumental in overseeing numerous environmental initiatives: gaining the international environmental ISO14001 certification in 2005; developing and delivering annual company sustainability targets, performance and reporting; advising on sustainability requirements for key infrastructure projects; establishing and managing the airports environmental stakeholder engagement programme; and briefing industry conferences, media, regulators and politicians on sustainability matters.
Before this Andy worked in the UK airline sector for a number of regional and low cost airlines, including Buzz, KLMuk, AirUK and Business Air. During this time he worked at the sharp end in airline operations before using this knowledge in broader commercial and planning roles. This culminated in his role as Fleet Planning Manager for KLMuk and Buzz, overseeing the development and implementation of the airline’s schedule.
Beyond his working experience Andy is also passionate about building better links between academic research initiatives and industry to ensure valuable knowledge is used to optimum effect. For more information please contact us.
